With a child in preschool or in kindergarten now, do you stay closer to home in case of an emergency with your child? Or are you enjoying the new freedom?
Do you feel like since you have a cell phone you can be reached no matter where you are? How far away from the school would you travel while your child is in school?

DD's preschool was about 20 minutes from our house so I tended to run errands near the preschool. Her class didn't seem to be long enough for me to justify going all the way home then driving back again.

I feel the same way. I do have a cell phone so they can reach me. I do drive to the next town 20-30 mins away during Preschool. My dh is also near so if it truely was an emergency he or mil would be available.

I run all over when ds is in preschool. I go 30 miles to another town. I have a cell phone, so they can reach me if they need me.

I try to stay in town. Occasionaly I'll run up to the city (not a big city) which is about 20 mins away, but I do have my cell if they need me.

I usually stick around the area, in case of an emergency. I don't stay home, but I do stay in town. I don't have a cell phone, but my dh is working in town so they can reach someone either way.
