For those of you that have kids in preschool, Do your kids bring home work that they did every day? My dd hasn't had any papers in her backpack for the last 5 days of school. Do you expect a paper every night to see what they did that day? I know they have done art projects, dd has come home with paint under her fingernails and glus on her arms, but I haven't seen any of it yet!

My kids didn't do worksheets in preschool...it wasn't that kind of preschool. They did do tons of art projects but they didn't come every week, much less than that because the teachers decorated the hallways and rooms with the art and we had a big art show during the year too.

If you're wondering, why don't you just ask the teacher?

my ds just started this year and this is only his second week and he has only brought home two papers. They may post them around the room for awhile. We have a composition book that is sent back and for from school as a communication link. Their is a few tracing project sand things in their. I just wish they wrote a little in there so I knew what he does and who he plays with each day. You can't get much out of him and this is a big transition from knowing what he does every minute of the day.

My daughter is coming home with art projects and some papers ... I am having a difficult time figuring out her day and her new friends. At this age she doesn't ask names and so far she's made friends with "bird shirt girl" and "polka dot girl". She is getting where she will tell me about the story they read that day but that took after about a week and a half of, I'm going to ask you when you get home about your story so remember something!

That's hysterical!!! I love kids!!! Sadly, that's what I would do when waiting tables for a large party (off topic), I would write "bald", "green shirt", "loud"....you know.

He does not always bring home papers. Some times he does and sometimes he doesn't. I know when I taught, I used to use alot of art projects to decorate the room.

My dd has brought home 3-4 art projects in the 2.5 weeks since she started school.

This made me laugh. Sounds like my daughter. She does know the names, but still identifies them by what they wear. "Today I played with Samantha who was wearing a pretty red dress" or "Today was Sarah's birthday and she was wearing a shirt with a cat on it. It was so cute." She's very fashion oriented.

Other than about one sentence when she gets in the car, I have no idea what they do at school. She loves it, but I can't get her to talk about it.
