I am curious to see if dh & I are overreacting: DD is in a 3day 1/2 day preschool. She is in the 3yrold class and they use M&M's and other small candy as rewards everyday! This bother us because we expect her to behave like a 3yr old without expecting rewards and it is even worse that they are using food as the reward. I have spoken with both the teacher & the director and it seems that all of the teachers feel as if this is an acceptable practice to get the kids to behave. Is this the norm? Are we the minority here? We certainly seem to be at school.

Are we overreacting by expecting them to stop this practice? We are very frustrated and when I think about it, I am kind of hurt becasue I totally didn't see this coming. She was at the same school last year for her 2yrold class and I am finding that the 3yr old world is soo different!!

TIA

Hmmm well.. yes and no. I have to say.. we use candy as reward.. but I can totally see where you are coming from. If its just one or two m&m's a day.. I dont think thats bad.. I dont know.. I guess it just depends on the parent..

Im not much help. lol
