WTH??? My youngest DD (2) has bitten DD (4) hard enough to leave a bruise TWICE in less than 24 hours. Yesterday and today when the big one wouldn't give the little one what she had in her hand. She is saying "give me that" and them chomping on her. Poor big sister. Both times she went to time out, cried and cried and was so apologetic - even holding the icey boo-boo thing on her sister for her.

You get sent home from our preschool if you bite, and after the second time, temporarily suspended until the parents can assure them that biting will not happen again. Again, WTH???? This is a huge concern to me - especially today after the second bite. WHAT DO I DO????????????????

My 2 year old is in that frustrating phase. She just tried to bite her brother today. We have to be on full alert. Her brother, however, is old enough to look out for the signs and move away - not like with another toddler. I just have to be vigilant, and trying to teach her to use her words. She likes to pull other kids' hair. Miss antisocial!

I have a hitter ( and a girl too lol ) so I know the frusteration!

There is a book out now, I think it is called "teeth are not for biting"...we had to get the other book "hands are not for hitting" for dd... maybe you could even make a book, like teeth are for chewing food, for smiling, for brushing, but NOT for biting our friends...

It seems sorta unreasonable that the preschool will not take him back til you can assure them no more biting, they are kids...

My gramma said that she had a biter and she bit him and that was the last time he bit, but I suppose that is a little old school!

We also had a biter. The school made us have her evaluated by a psychiatrist. She literally laughed in our faces when we told her why we were there. She said you have got to be kidding me, they want her evaluated for biting? She said mrs. _____ that is called communication to a 2 year old. She actually went to the preschool to observe and told the school just that and that they need to provide more supervision, and also be able to watch for triggers that it is going to happen. They were able to catch her several times before she bit, and she eventually outgrew it. I wish you luck.
