Polly Pockets -- they even sell Disney Princess ones at WalMart. My daughter loves them. Also, all of the 5 year old girls we know love High School Musical. If you don't want to give a DVD, the CD is good. If she's now into it yet, she will be. There's NO WAY around it!!!

My neice turned 5 in August and she LOVES anything Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and Webkinz. She's also really into anything artsy like glitter and fancy paper, scissors that cut in zig-zags, etc...good luck!

Okay, my daughter had her parties and I think her favorite thing is a kit to make cards. It's super cute and she's spend a ton of time using it. It has 20 cards/envelopes and tons of punch out shapes. It came from a specialty shop in the area but I'm sure something similar would be available in the big stores. I still don't think you could go wrong with Aqua Dots though. Or Polly Pockets.
