My ds has just entered his first year of school. PreK~4. We have received our first birthday party invitation for a little girl. What would a 5 yr old little girl like, that she doesn't probably already have? Thank you in advance!

Aqua Dots seem to be a popular present for that age. My daughter turns 5 next week and really likes them. You can't go wrong with Webkinz. I bought my dd's friend a dog and the little carrier. Those carriers are so cute and they like just carrying them around. I guess you would have to know which Webkinz she had though. I let you know after the parties today (yes, I'm hosting two parties today for dd!) which things she really likes.

Let's see my girls are 4 and 6 and both big into My Little Pony (especially the breezies), CareBears, Barbie Stuff, Anything Disney Princess.

I would suggest actually calling the mom and asking - at least that will give you some direction.

I was going to say My Little Pony because my four year old LIVES for My Little Pony -- the mini ponies are set up kind of like Polly Pockets - all miniture stuff.

Polly Pockets stuff seems to go over well with that age group as well.

My youngest dd just turned 5 Sept 10th. Most of the stuff she loves the others has listed already Polly Pockets, Barbie, Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Hello Kitty, Disney Princess. Also she loves dress up stuff.

You can never go wrong with some construction paper, glue, scissors, crayons or washable markers. Kids love craft stuff.

Good ideas, so far - but I would just like to suggest if she has any younger (babies) siblings in the house you might stay away from polly pocket stuff! Anytime my boys get anything with tiny little pieces they have to live up in a cabinet somewhere and only get pulled down when they want to play with them. Then they have to stay where I can watch them and count the pieces when we put them up again! But that's just me!

My 5-year-old niece likes webkins, build a bear (which I'm sure is expensive), anything princessey, high school musical (but this could be because she has an older sister)... hmmm, oh, she LOVES makeup - but you might want to ask the mom first. Barbies, BABIES...

I gave my niece an old diaper bag filled with newborn diapers for her babies, wipes, a spit rag, etc - she loved it. Her sisters got her a baby that crys - she loves the ones that make noise. (she named the baby after my new baby - Brenden (even though her baby's in pink!)

Good luck!
