Help. My dd keeps scratching her private areas...I think it's more pleasure than anything else, but she does it constantly. She is not red, and there is no odor when I change her diaper, so I don't think she has an infection of any sort. But she does it A LOT. When I asked the pediatrician about it, he said she is probably pleasuring herself, and she should grow out of it. But it happens so much. I really want to help train her to stop without making her feel that it is wrong, but not sure how I should go about doing that. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

My aunt had this problem with my younger cousin to. You may try to distract her like if you see her doing that give her a toy instead to direct her attention to other things. My cousin did out grow it and your daughter will to. It's just a stage I guess.

I say just ignore it. You can try to talk to her about it but at this age she wont understand what your saying anyway. Im sure she will grow out of it in time.
