My husband is away on business this week (no snow where he's going ) and I'm trying to keep my 4 year old in good humor! So far I've made a time line to put on the frig and we're counting down the days until Daddy is home.

My husband has also taken a My Little Pony with him and with his digital camera he plans on taking pictures of the pony doing things while he's on his trip and will email them at night. He came up with that one all on his own! I think the pony is eating Mexican tonight!

Anyone do anything else to make the time pass a bit quicker for your kids when Daddy is away?

That is such an awesome idea. I don't have any tips.

that's so sweet mel! Don't you just love dh even more when they do lovely things like that for your children!

does he send her things via snail mail? my dd loves getting mail, even if it is just a post card.

The girls make cards/pictures of the things they did while Daddy was gone. Then they can tell him a story about the pictures when he gets home.

That is a cute idea! Have him talk with DH and let your DS tel DH stories about his day. Tell him when daddy comes back, that we can all do something together.

Usually I just have my husband call about an hour before bedtime to say good night, it is hard on all three of us when he is gone. The change in routine is really hard on my 2 1/2 year old.
