OOOPPPS sorry about the caps! DD is almost 3 and has been peeing in the potty sice 16 months...but poops in her panties....i was fine for a long while ....now I think thisis all she knows...should I keep her naked after lunch should I just not worry about it and continue to switch to a daiper for naps. She seems to do awesome out in public...I think she love sthe novelty of puble restrooms. She goes completely independently. I just don't know what to try...any suggestions....Someone mentioned in a previous thread that maybe it is a sit stand thing....but she is very strong willed and really does not want to sit on the potty if told to do so and I really don't want to battle at this one. She has no constipation issues but I don't think she would hesitate to hold it in if forced to sit on the potty. She willingly will sit for a few seconds but if she thinks poop is going to come out....off the potty she goes and up go the pants....naked may help????? nothing to catch the poop....but honestly I don't like the idea of poop around my house!!!! I just don't know what to do!!!!! I am hoping it will just click!

You could do what i did with my oldest boy. He was actually four at the time but i'm sure she could get this now. My son would use a pull up to poop in the morning and then hold it all day and not poop til he got home. He would run in and put a pull up on and do his business. One day i counted the pull ups and there were only 8 left. I had a talk with him about how Mommy and Daddy would not be able to buy pull ups and toys both. So he needed to make up his mind if he wanted pull ups or toys. He thought about it and when those pull ups ran out in four days he came home from school....ran into the house and said...."Mom i need my pull up.' I said "Riley you chose to get toys from now on and not pull ups.".....He said "I know what i need to do mom".....he ran in and went poop on the toilet and we have never had an issue with it again.

So i suggest trying the we can't buy toys and pull ups speech.

That's awesome, Jodie. Way to outsmart him! I have boys and this probably won't work for your sweet little girl, but I asked both of my boys if they were going to make snakes or rocks. They loved it. My little one will be 2 1/2 tomorrow and he has been showing me his snakes and rocks for 2 months now. He hops off that potty and wants a big cheer - he says "Look at what I made!" and he loves to flush it down. We stoop to humiliating levels when we potty train our children....

My middle child still at almost 5 has to be forced to go number 2. She will go days with out going she says it hurts and we say well yeah if you went everyday like you are supposed to it wouldnt hurt you. She also takes miralax to help her to not be able to hold it in for long periods of time. I say if she is normally around the same time everyday pooper then go sit on the pot and read or something till she goes. Make it a game and let her know its ok thats where its supposed to go not in her big girl panties!!!!

I bribed dd with books! Stickers and charts weren't working and so I told her that every time she pooped in potty she could have a new book out of the closet. (I had picked up a Dragon Tales series at Big Lots so I thought I had enough) The only problem was that she likes books soo much that it took her awhile to stop asking for one when she pooped.
