My two 1/2 year old is going through a phase of not sharing right now! The worst part is that he will try to hit the other child if they take his toy.

My immediate reaction is to put my son in time out and remove him from the activity. Then, explain that it is wrong.

I just feel badly that he would try to hit a child!!! Do all two year olds go through this?
My son was pretty good about sharing for some time,, but all of the sudden he has become a little protective over toys.

He does not have siblings, though we are expecting a new baby in March. I am trying to take him to play dates to help him be better with the other children.

What tactics do you use when your child hits and can't share!?

I think they all do!

I pick my 2 year old, move her out of the situation and tell her NO, we don't hit and need to take turns.

My girls are 2 & 4 so it is a constant battle at my house.

From our playgroup days when my daughter was that age they ALL went through it. Especially at the time most of them were only children.
