What kinds of things do\did you do with you your two year old. I read to my DD and dance with her. I feel like she watches a little too much tv. Anybody have some fun and cheap activities to do with her? Thanks.

We do playdough and color. If it's not too freezing cold, we go out side. Sometimes he "helps" me clean.
I could use some ideas too.
I'm thinking we're going to get DS swimming lessons at some point through the Y, so that will be fun (hopefully).

I struggle with this too. When ever DS is bored he brings me his movies. I try to get him outside or take him to a nearby playground. If that doesn't work then we get out his cars and trains and play with those. Sometimes we will get out play doh and finger paints. They don't keep him entertained very long but it is worth a shot. Good Luck!!

bake cookies, library storytime, go to the park (depending on the weather), swimming, build with blocks or legos, make a tent, have a pretend camp out or tea party, cover the table with paper and color (use markers, crayons), go on a nature walk.

Wooden puzzles, coloring, blocks, aquadoodle, ball. My 2 year old would rather play by herself most of the time (unlike my 4 year old!!).

Right now DS's favorite thing to do is to wash dishes. When he starts getting bored I put a little water in the sink with a little dish soap and give him some plastic cups to "wash". Sometimes he makes a little mess but its not too bad and it usually gives me about 45 mins. of peace.

Puzzles, books, playdough/moon sand, finger paint, color, golf ball painting (take a dishwashing container and place a piece of paper in it. Add a dollop of paint and a golf ball. Let your child turn the container different ways and the ball rolls in the paint around the paper), blocks. My youngest can spend lots of time playing with her toy kitchen, toy horses, dinosaurs and animals.
If you are cooped up because of the weather check and see if your mall has an indoor play area.

I spend a LOT of time outside with my 2 year old. He is much happier when he is outdoors. He loves to play cars, ball, go for walks while pushing his toy stroller (he won't sit in his stroller anymore but he loves to push one), go to the playground, stomp around in the woods behind our house, rake leaves, anything outside really. When we are indoors, he likes to play with the trains and build tracks with me, play with all of his brother's hot wheels racetracks and cars, and play with blocks. He also really loves to help me cook. He always thinks he wants to do art stuff, but I drag it all out and he loses interest in about 5 minutes. I bought some wrapping paper for 90% off at Target after Christmas and I discovered that if I roll it out it covers my kitchen island perfectly, so I cut off a big strip and tape it down and let him go to town with markers, crayons, stickers, paint, whatever he wants to do that day. He also really loves playdough.
He goes to preschool 2 mornings a week and he absolutely loves it. In fact, he asks nearly every morning "can I go to school today?" I also take him to Sunday school so he can play with his school friends there too. He really likes being around other kids.

I didn't enroll my daughter for next year and I bet I'll be sorry. If I did, it would've been for 2 mornings. Her sister will be in Kindergarten all day and I'm afraid she'll get lonely. Maybe I'll look for a playgroup for her.

My daughter likes seeing her friends too. She goes to Sunday school and Awana on Wed and I will start taking her to lapsit tomorrow. I can't wait for nicer weather and trips to the park.
I let her help me with the chores. She likes to get a chair and help me with the dishes, and she helps fold laundry too. She likes me to build with her blocks. I color with her, but we have issues if I color on her side, or if she colors on my side. LOL.
