My dd goes to preschool 3 days a week, and when we signed her up she was guaranteed a spot for next years VPK ( there is a huge waiting list there )

Now there are mommy rumors that the preschool is closing down. I asked the director and she said they will give us an answer in May. The rumors are that she is moving, the building needs to be given back to the church, blah blah blah.

The mommys are mad. because everything in this area has a long waiting list, we are rural and this is a really good school, and despite this failing on the director, she is awesome.

My dh is PI$$ed because, how can you gaurantee a spot if there is none? He thinks she should honor her agreement and continue finishing off next years children...

Sorry for the vent, I just have no idea what I am going to do about her schooling next year.... :-(

That sucks! They can't give you any info til May? I think I would get together with the other moms and see if you can talk to the director and let her know that if she is going to close down she really should give you guys a heads up so you can at least try to get her into somewhere else! I would go ahead and get on a list now. If she closes maybe you can get in later in the year next year. I agree that it is a bummer, but you can't make her stay open.

Oh, I would be so mad!!! She should've told you before enrollment for next year. Now you have to chance being able to get into another school. If I were you, I would be searching for another school. That is crazy!!!! Sorry you are having to deal with this.

That stinks. I had a simmilar issue with a preschool i enrolled my son in for the coming year. It was 3 days a week half days. I paid a registration fee and everything. Well, a few weeks ago, a friend called the school and was told that they didnt have a part time preschool anymore! I was so outraged, i called them and they acted like it was no big deal. I couldnt belive that they didnt even bother to call me and let me know. Ugh. Well i got my money back and found another preschool i am happy with. Thank goodness it wasnt to late.

that really stinks...sorry! But you have to look out for you and your kids, I'd make arrangements as if they will not be open. Even if they do stay open, it may be a different type of preschool than it was this year. Maybe talk to some of the individual teachers, not the director, for some guidance. Good luck!
