In the last few days, my son (2 1/2) has made awesome progress on the potty. We use a timer, and when it goes off, he goes and pees. he still hasnt pooped on the potty but i figure it will come with time.
Here's my question: The timer goes off every 28 minutes, he stays dry nearly every time. Maybe 1 "accident" per day. Is every 28 minutes to often? Should I start trying to extend it? Or just leave well enough alone for now? Urine does come out every time, but is he capable of holding it longer? I dont want to extend it and have more "accidents" out of concern that it might hurt his self esteem about the issue. Though, I never make a big deal out of it, i just say accidents happen and put on a new pull up.
What do you ladies think?

I never used the timer with my 3 year old, but I would think if you wanted to extend the time, that would be fine, and probably better, so that he does learn to hold it when necessary.
