I think there are lots of us in the same boat!! By the end of the first week my son had a cold too.

I went to out local health food store and found some Children's Echinacea (liquid form). I add drops to his drinks. I noticed a difference in 24 hours. It's a lot cheaper than Dr. co-pays so I figured it was worth a try.

If you try it - just make sure to follow the directions. Echineacea is not to be used everyday on a permanent basis becuase it will lose its effectiveness. I believe 10 days on 10 days off is what is recommended. I don't even use it that much. I do more when he is showing signs of needing an immune system boost.

I had to stay home today because my kids are lucky enough to have caught a "stomach bug" that has gone on since Labor Day Weekend! Between the two of them they have been sick about every 3 days and they say there is nothing they can do for them! Craziness! I pay for them to go to school so I can stay home and miss work to keep them when they are sick from school...I think it is a conspiracy!

:D You sound just like my husband. They sent our daughter home a few weeks ago because she had come down with that hand, foot and mouth disease which TWO other kids in her class already had. My husband was like, let me get this straight. The school got her sick and they are sending her home because she is sick and we still have to pay for the days she is not there because she is home being sick with the cold she got from school?!?" :D It does sound like a conspiracy, doesn't it?

So far Ive been safe, son usually brings home the happy surprises for me from school.

Not since he's started this school, all has been good. Guess it just depends on how classrooms keep things clean.
