I'm so ready to go loony from DS. He's so constantly whiny and throws a fit at the littlest thing. He refuses to listen to me and if I raise my voice he screams at the top of his lungs and repeats "but MOM!!" in this whiny voice over and over and over again, getting louder and whiny-er every time. Is this a 4 year old thing? (he hits milestones about 6 months early, and he's 3 1/2 yrs old)

I'm ready to admit myself to the crazy house just so I can get some peace and quiet! I don't think I'm pms-ing this early (I have another 7-10 days before that starts) I feel so mean because I am so fried from it, especially since we're trying quite fervently to have another baby.. It isn't exhaustion - I've been sleeping fine. I have been sick to my stomach the past few days, and have been dealing with headaches (which are exacerbated by the constant whining and fits) so maybe I'm just fighting off something and that's why I am on edge.... DH works til 10 tonight and there's no one available to take him for a while, so I think I'll be "going potty" a lot today..

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH he's at it again!!!!!

You are not the only mother to spend a longer time in the bathroom. When my girls whine I keep saying "I don't understand you. You need to use your big girl voice and not whine". Usually they correct themselves. Good luck. I feel your pain.

I do what Deemom does. I tell them I can't understand a whiny, crying voice. I won't talk to them or acknowledge them if they continue. I will also walk away until they calm down..I say, "I'll come back when you're calm....Let me know when you can be a big boy." It's tough. My kids are older than yours, but I've been there. My 3rd was born when my oldest was 5. THere were days when I really wouldn't know how I was going to get through the day. LOL! And not that it's any better now, just different issues. LOL!

Oh we go through phases like that. I know exactly how you feel! Usually, just when I think I can't take it anymore, things get better. I hope they do for you!

Not! I just thought if I went in there 20 times and got 15 seconds each time to myself before DS heard the door shut and realized where I was, that would give me 300 seconds, which is 5 minutes of silent ME time.

Are you doing time outs? I put my daughter in her room until she can stop whining.
