My oldest son is 4 (almost 5) and wants to play hockey like his daddy! I've already found out that they start with skating lessons. The lady that teaches the lessons has a son who plays hockey with my dh and she was at their last game so I talked to her about it a bit. She said if he's really excited about hockey he can wear hockey gloves & a helmet to the lessons, but no stick.
My boys will be turning 5, 3 & 1 in a couple of months and since my parents always spend $50 per child I thought maybe I'd let them get the older two some hockey gear. They'd both LOVE sticks, gloves, helmets & skates!!! I've read that the helmets & skates are hard to fit and generally need to be tried on first so I figured maybe DH & I could get these for them when they start lessons, but as for the sticks & gloves... where's the best place to get them? We do have a hockey store here at the rink, should I stick to buying them local or are there any good online sites where you can find these things cheaper???
TIA!!!
