my daughters and I will be flying in 2 weeks up north, 3 1/2 hour flight. I was talking to older dd who is almost 4 and asked her if she would mind wearing a pull up on the plane. She was ok with it and sorta giggled "can I pee in it then??!!"

I just cannot imagine struggling with a baby, plus her in an airline bathroom, or even trying to find someone to hold the baby while I let her go potty in those disgusting restrooms!

Is this bad?

not bad at all!! to be honest those bathrooms can be VERY loud and scary!!
I used to put a pull up on my girls as well for this reason!! I did try to have them use the potty on the airport before we left (mind you youngest dd would freek out with automatic toilets for one). but would you rather have her sit in a wet seat or wear a pullup!! things do happen!! maybe have her wear a pair of panties over so she can change in and out of the pull up before and after the plane!!!
goodluck!!!

Whatever makes it easier for you, do it. You will have your hands full.

I'm thinking about putting a pull-up on my five year old for our trip to Vermont (11 hr drive). She doesn't give much warning when she has to go. It is a full emergency and I'm afraid we won't be able to make it to the potty on time. I will obviously pull over and change it if we have to. I plan to limit drinks as much as possible but you know how that goes!

Sometimes there is no room to pull over to let her do that. She is great at peeing outdoors...

thanks!

she was def ok with it, kinda silly about it.... I just didn't want to overreact about it, but nothing like racing to an airplane bathroom with a baby and a preschooler!

No! Those bathrooms are horrible and the three of you will never fit in there anyway.
I would just have her go right before boarding and as soon as you get of the plane. If she has to go during the flight then there is nothing wrong with a pull up!
