Oh yes, we read all the time here--several times a day.

Ds is 6, but we've read to him since he was 6 months old, every night before bed and lots of times throughout the day as well. We read at least one book, usually more like two or a chapter or two. Probably around 15-20 minutes of reading time. Ds reads himself but it is very important to keep reading to them. I do admit that it was easier to read to him throughout the day when he was younger. Then we'd read after his nap too. But now, no nap, of course! He's too busy playing with his friends. But always before bed, we've only missed a night or two here and there over the 6 years. It's very enjoyable to all of us!

My Kids Are not Huge Readers. We are Busy and they Are Very Sports and Outside playing kind of kids!

I Am not either , But I Know its Imortant , so We Do Read together at least 3 Good Books a Week.
My Kids also Get Weekly Library story time and My 1st Grader Has to Read 20 easy Books a Month , For Her Homework. She often reads to me while I Cook dinner.

I Went to a Parenting Program Last Yr. that was all about Reading and it was Very interesting Learning how to Make sure your children Get the most out Of Books that are being Read to them.

Us adults actually did a Workshop With each other , One Being the child and One the Reader.
