Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone else is having a preschool graduation going into kindergarten? Ours is tomorrow and I have invited our entire family to it. My son has a part in the graduation and he is proud to be moving on to regular school.

Here is his graduation picture:

Wow! He gets a cap & gown? I thought our school made a big deal out of it.
What a handsome little guy.

My daughter had her preschool commencement last Friday evening. They wore whatever they wanted but most of the children dressed up a little, button down shirt and shorts for boys and sundresses for girls. Their perfomance was the biggest part of the ceremony. She learned to sign the alphabet for one of the songs. They learned 3 songs total. After the performance, they showed video that was put together by one of the parents, pictures of the children and teachers throughout the year. After the video, they had cookies & lemonade (donated by parents). We were able to pick up her certificate and progress report from a table. I thought it was very nicely done.

Oh, and only the parents or guardians were allowed to go. Each child received 2 tickets.

My son finished preschool this year. They did not do anything like that. They had a music program in the evening towards the end of school. We all went to this. They also had an open house and received their little paper certificates on the last day of preschool. My husband and I were unable to attend since we both work during the day. So, I suppose that my son will end up in therapy years from now because of it.

He is so cute!! My son also wore a cap and gown for his graduation. The boys wore red and the girls wore white. They were all so adorable!

Oh my!!
He is handsome in his cap and gown, but I think it's a little much for preschool.
My ds class had an end of year picnic and they gave out certificates with a picture collage for each child.

I guess I thought that's what graduations were: cap and gown. While we don't have kindergarten graduation, they do get pictures taken in a cap and gown.

In preschool, they have cap and gown pictures for their graduations. Graduations are a big deal in our area, I guess.

Still glad we don't do a formal kindergarten graduation though. Our simple little ceremony is plenty!

Your little man is VERY cute!

I can't wait until my boys get big enough to go. that picture is so cute. I think the caps and gowns and little graduations make them feel so grown-up!

Graduation was great! The program lasted about an hour. My sister video taped it. They said the pledge of allegiance, counted up to 20, days of the week, months of the year in English and Spanish, Sang a couple of songs, received diplomas, and then everyone got a special award with a little toy, then they marched out!

A Parent there took pictures during the entire year and put a year book together so that will be coming soon.

Now we are doing summer camp at the Preschool and they moved them up with the school agers. He goes on 3 field trips a week. I can't handle my little boy growing up so fast.

I feel that it is necessary to make a big deal of the little things in his life, trying to make him realize that he is maturing and starting the next stage of life.

I have my other son graduating preschool this coming year. My boys are 1 year 3 weeks apart in age. I can't wait for another graduation to celebrate!

If you can't tell I am a very proud mommy like everyone of you are!

Happy Fathers Day to All the dads.
