If your child eats certain foods, or more sugar than usual do you see behavior changes?

Nope, although I have had ds tested, and I know which ones make him tired, like corn and milk. I find my kids both simply are little heathens when they are hungry. Give them some food and they are different people. I used to get criticized for keeping my son on a schedule where I knew I couldn't go over a certain # of hours without food, (not as a baby, but as a toddler and preschooler) and I would try to get him to eat something before a nap. But I know my blood sugar issues, and saw the signs in him.

I do know I get "optimum performance" (better behavior) if they have fruits and veggies, rather than a full meal.

Absolutely, my five year old gets VERY hyper. I try to give her sweets with a meal. I have hypoglycemia and that is what the nutrionist suggested I do if I have sweets.

I never have noticed any changes either. But I do need to keep her fed. She has a bottomless pit.
Her behavior changes come when she hasn't had enough sleep.

Yes! My dd (age 7) who is so sweet 90% of the time goes completely off the wall (rude, attitude, crying, saying her life is terrible, etc) if she has any food coloring. Once we took artificial colors out of her diet, she's been so pleasant to be around. We even told the teachers at school after an unfortunate incident with fruit punch where the teacher said, "I don't know what happened to her. That's not the girl we know. I've never seen her act that way before."

Now when she wants pink icing .. I put some fresh cherries in the blender and make cherry juice to color the icing. It works great!

It's not the sugar. Just last night I made a big batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and after having two she was fine. But a half a cup of Kool-aid and or a freezie and we're sunk for the rest of the day until she can sleep it off.

I tried to cut out certain foods to see if they affected Bob in the past, but never noticed a change. I try not to give them a lot of sugary things, anyway. This weekend he went with dh to get coffee and he had his first ever donut--buttercream filled long john with maple icing--and BOY was he talking NON STOP for a few hours.
