My dh, sons and I are going on a 3 day trip and I'm wondering what everyone else opacks for their kids on a trip.

I've got clothes, socks, underwear, sneakers for both of them, sandals for the baby, Flip flops for Trace, pullups and wipes, tylenol, motrin and cough medicine, a thermometer, sippy cups and bottles, each of their favorite blankets and a pillow for them each, their loveys ( each has a stuffed dog they sleep with), baby soap.

Is there anything else you can think of? I'm going by wal-mart this morning to get some snacks to take.

Freeze juiceboxes and water bottles to keep the snacks cold, and you will have nice cold drinks. Bring some grocery bags to throw trash in, or tie up dirty clothes. Maybe even ziplocks for the clothes if you have them.
How old exactly? Mabye a new inexpensive toy. They have those things that you can hang from the back of the seat the kids can use from a tray, but I don't know if little ones can use reach them from thier car seats.
Something like a magna doodle might be fun for them. Might you be swimming? Swim trunks or swim diapers. Sun block, hat and maybe even sunglasses.

if you are going to be in the car for awhile. A few new toys they haven't seem before and give it to them one at a time through out the trip. Depending on where you are going:
bug repellent
sunscreen
hats

Books! My dd loves books. When we travel even for a short ride. I always make sure she has books to read. She's 20mts.

I've found on more than one occasion even if you don't think you are gonna go swimming you usually end up having the opportunity so I would agree with packing swimwear.

I packed the swim trunks and got some pampers splashers this am. I also got individual cracker packs and juices. I packed both of their doodle boards and some colorwonder paper and crayons.

I would pack two outfits per child per day unless you can wash clothes where you are going. Have fun!

I agree. We always pack a swimsuit even if it is in the middle of winter and we think we'll have no chance to go swimming. You just never know. I have learned to also have goggles and a blow up swim toy for DD, too. She can swim but she appreciated being able to relax a little in deeper water.

If you're staying in a hotel or motel or even with some family, you'll probably need a step stool so the kids can reach the sink to brush their teeth. If you're travelling by car, it is easy to toss in a small plastic folding step-stool. They now sell for $9.99 on sale. In a pinch when we have travelled by plane, we'll have DD stand on an overturned waste can.

If you're travelling by car and it will be a trip that takes longer than an hour, a portable DVD player and CD player helps.

I try not to take too many toys. Kids usually beg for souvenirs so I'll buy them a toy on the trip. DD is happy with a new journal and fancy pens. She could draw and write notes for hours.

A deck of card (or two) always comes in handy.
