HI
My ds is 3 almost 4 in sept..he is drinking 2% milk. We did the whole milk from age 1 till about 2 1/2 then switched to the 2%.

We all drink skim.

I was wondering if i could just switch him to skiM?

I dont think it would be a bad thing our ped said after age 2 nothing wrong with skim same vitamins less fat! However its just too darn watery for my liking so we do 1% here!

dh and I both grew up on 2% so that is what we all drink here. I would bet that my kids wouldnt even notice if I switched to something else, but skim looks like dirty water to me. sorry!

My kids were on whole milk until age 2. After that they have all had skim like the rest of the family.

We also switched to skim at the age of 2...the only difference IIRC is the fat content.

My ds just turned 2 and he usually drinks 1%, like we do. I actually prefer nonfat, but I want him to get some fat in his milk since he has a hard time putting on weight (and to get the good milk deal of 2/5.79, I have to buy two gallons of the same kind).

all our kids were on skim by 20 months per their ped she says 18 months and older as long as the eat a well balanced diet. if they didn't they would have had whole until 2 then to skim... the fat content is the only difference they have the same calcium ect.
