Does anyone one else have a problem with mosquitos eating your little one alive? My daughter has numerous bites and some are swelling up. She cannot be out there for 2 minutes without getting bit. We have spray but either I am missing spots or it is ineffective. I can't even let her outside. DH fogged the yard but I think it needs it again. My 2 year old nephew had one bite that swelled and it ended up being celluitis (sp). I am not sure if I should take her in to the doc's or not. I am putting caladrly on it.

A quick tip to keep mosquitos away, put some dryer sheets in your pockets! Mosquitos can smell the CO2 that you exhale and somehow the dryer sheets disguise this. It really works, try it!

Thank you my mom suggested that too but will the earth friendly ones work? They are biodegradeable.

I believe as long as they are scented, they should work.

good point. My kids have a little pool we have to empty every night because thats where they go to lay thier eggs. If you can't empty it every night, through some bleach in it to kill them. But dont' swim for a few hours after.

The mosquitos here are TERRIBLE. Even before we had the pool up we were having problems with them. I can't even take the boys out for a walk because I'm slapping my arms and legs every 5 seconds when I feel something. Thanks for the dryer sheet tip, I am going to try that.

Yes I would check your yard for standing water. We used to go to Assateague every summer for vacation and the mosquitoes there were horrible, worse at night we always wore pants and long sleeves in the evening and used OFF and we tried the drier sheets but it seemed after awhile they were immuned. Hope you find something that works that itching is the worse.

I get eaten alive - other people around me will be fine as they all come to me. The only thing that works is DEET. All the "natural" stuff or the "alternative" ingredients do not work. Even Cutters, Off, if they don't have DEET as the main ingredient, will not work for me. Good luck. I know people don't want to have to coat their kid in DEET.

as you can imagine with all the flooding here the nats and mosquitos are horrible... even during the day you could get eaten alive.. i called and asked my ped the other day what would be good to use on the kids my two youngest are allergic..oldest sweats bad bugs don't like him lol...she said if they are swelling up and welting the only way to protect them is a bugg spray like off deep woods off its one of the only one that controlls nats and i will have to use deet.. she recommended spraying their clothes with it not their skin so much.. we did it yesterday and i'm happy to report no bites(except on moms face lol) and keep benadryl on hand for the welts it works great.
