I'm really glad that my child LOVES milk..However, she really won't drink anything else very much..ie water or juice..Anyone else in this situation? What have you been doing?

my son used to love drinking milk which I thought was great until he went for a checkup and we found out that he had an iron deficiency that was caused by too much calcium. Have you tried different kinds of juices and cutting them with water so they're not too sweet?

I did have this problem earlier on too with my dd. I just kep offering really watered down juice or just water. If she wouldn't drink it I figured she really wasn't thirsty. They will drink whatever else you give them you just have to be tough enough not to give in and give them the milk. They know that's what will happen if they wait long enough.

I am not trying to sound mean, but maybe if you just wait them out for a couple hours they will drink a little bit of the water or juice. Good Luck.

I give milk only with breakfast and after dinner at their pre-bedtime snack. The rest of the day and with lunch and dinner they have water. You can just limit her, just offer water and tell her only 2 drinks of milk a day.

well that is my oldest he will not drink juice or pop(wich i'm glad about) he always has only drank water or milk... we limit the milk to 12 oz a day per peds recomendation and he drinks water the rest of the time.. he was a chubby little boy and he was drinking empty calories when we used to give him milk all the time.. he is now normal for his age and only gets milk in small doses and loves water.. there is nothing wrong with not drinking juice just make sure they eat the fruits and veggies.
