At what age did you let your kids start eating popcorn? I've heard popcorn can be one of those foods that could be a chocking hazard, so I don't usually let my 2-yr dd eat it, but a friend of mine recently mentioned that her 2-yr ds eats popcorn at the movies and he loves it. So I started rethinking that maybe my dd could eat it now ... any thoughts?
We love popcorn in my family so I have a hard time imagining not letting anyone eat it. My minimum requirement is the kid has to have teeth, specifically molars. If they can chew meat / chicken, popcorn is probably okay.

This is one of those foods that I waited until my oldest was a little older but the next kids got to eat it earlier. My kids love popcorn, my 2 yr old has no problems!

I don't remember exactly. I think around two. But we took the kernels off of each piece of popcorn so it was entirely soft and then made sure if was kinda small. Took a lot of work but he loved it sooo much.
We are big popcorn eaters as well and our kids always seem to sneak a kernel or more by 15-16 months and if they handle it well, we start giving it to them. My youngest is 18 months and has been eating popcorn for several months now.
I myself like to wait until 3 for popcorn and other choking hazzards. I think it is what the "experts" reccomend. But I am sure I gave her a little before then. I just made sure I watched her well while she at it. When we went to the movies, I brought my little one her own snack.
My sil gives her little one that no-kernel fake popcorn stuff. I think it is disgusting, but little ones love it.
