well my 4 year old ds has no endurace or stamina he has been checked for being iron difficient and was not. he just gets pooped out so quick.. he is tiny for his age weight wise but he is our best eater and always picks the healthy choices... just wondered if anyone else has a child that just gets tuckered out when walking ect? the heat is killing this poor kid. he will see his ped at the end of august and we are going to talk about it again(we review it at his physicals). i'm starting to think he will need a stroller until he is 7 lol...

I'm sorry, I can only dream about one kid without stamina....I've got 3 little energizer bunnies. I'm the pooped out one in this house!

He's in a stroller at 4? I say give it up, put it up and make him walk. Try exercising more, indoors if it's too hot there. If you were close to me I'd let you borrow our little indoor trampoline, it's been a lifesaver in this heat since I can't stand to go outside! Other than trying to build up strength a little at a time, I can't offer any good advice, hopefully the Dr. can help you! Good Luck!

Your title caught me eye. DD was like this when she was a pre-schooler (about 3-yrs old). She got really adaptive, too. When playing with other kids she'd find a way to work in rest breaks into the games. Or she'd suddenly have to adjust her shoe or something. And although she ate the healthiest diet I've ever witnessed, she was extremely small on the height and weight charts - under the 5%.

During one of her check-ups her pediatrician mentioned that DD had a heart murmur that was probably innocent. I objected and pointed out DD's stature and her lake of endurance. I pressed to have it checked out further.

Well, DD was referred to a pediatric cardiologist who immediately fitted her with a heart monitor to wear for 24 hours - poor kid. I had to do all sorts of things with DD like make her take long walks, etc, and keep a diary of her daily activities, including her naps.

Turns out there was nothing wrong with DD's heart - thank goodness! - but she had silent asthma! She visited a pediatric pulmonologist and got onto medications - one of them Singular. She shot up in height IMMEDIATELY and is now in the 35th percentile for height and weight!

he walks most of the time but when we are at fairs and stuff all day we do bring a stroller for him(he is only 34lbs so he can easily ride) or we would be practically standing in one spot for a long time... he does excercise we have a trampoline and playset he rides bike he just can't go for very long.. we went hiking and i felt like i was barely walking so that i stayed back with him... i don't know he just maybe one of those people that can't walk or run for long periods of time.. he does do taekwondo and does the strength training there... who knows it just seems wierd to me.
