my poor guy is so allergic to bug bites if he does not have spray and benadryl the poor guy is miserable... well the boys were out in the kiddie pool and he was slapping at his back and my oldest yells bee ugg younger ds got stung he did not cry just said it hurts really bad... then his back started to swell.. i freaked dh is allergic and is supposed to carry and epi pen so i was nervous i called the ped and told her i was nervous she told me what to look for and if he was starting to get lethargic tired or hard time breathing to call 911. luckily with in an hour the sight was half the size and eventually went down...

i'm just glad he is not allergic to the point of needing serious intervention but man it freaked me out. anybody else allergic to wasp or bee stings?

You should have him seen by an allergist and get tested to see exactly what he is allergic to. If he swelled up the next one will be worse. And if he's stung near his face/throat it could be severe. He'll probably have to get an epipen too. DH is allergic, found out the hard way, and turns out he's allergic to all bees except the honey bee! He gets bee venom injection therapy now to build up his resistance. Always keep benadryl on hand.

por kid! I agree with 80s if he gets stung again it could be worse.
my oldest dd got stung last year and to our knowledge no allergic to the bees but I was nervous as I am slightly allergic (we keep benedryl in hand)

I swell up quite a bit. I got stung by a bee the first time when I was about 35. I went to urgent care & got a shot. My hand/arm was swollen for a week. I took so much benedryl that week that I had the shakes. I got stung by a wasp about a year later. That time I went to the pharmacy - showed the pharmacist the swelling on the leg & the told me to take the benedryl. I've not needed an epi pen, but if I were to be stung on the neck or something, I might. I also react very badly to other bug bites- mosquitoes are the worst.

I'm glad he is ok. The girls haven't been stung yet so I'm not sure if they are allergic or not.
