As it is right now, Bob sleeps in his crib in his room. There is also a bed in that room. Jamie sleeps in the pack n play next to me. So tonight, Bob is going to start sleeping in his big boy bed and Jamie is going to start sleeping in the crib. I'm excited to have my room back to myself, but I know I will miss Jamie waking me up in the mornings. Sometimes he will reach out to me and tickle me. "tick-tick-tick," he says. Then there is also the bit about keeping Bob in his own bed, lol. I don't want to use a baby gate because I want to make sure he knows he can get up and go potty at night. He seems to be excited to sleep in his big boy bed, so hopefully he'll stay in there.

Good luck.

We tried several times with ds to get him into his own bed with no success. But finally it took about a week of not much sleep but he has been sleeping in his own bed for over a year now. But ds wasn't real hip on moving out of our bed.

My dd is in her big girl bed now too. She always potties before bed and doesn't go in the night. I put a child proof door knob cover over her door. Heard too many horror stories of things that have happened when children were wondering through the house and outside of the house while parents are sleeping in the night. I still have a monitor in her room and she knows to knock on the door when she is awake. Good luck!

Good luck!! Our oldest dd slept with us since birth & we've really been working to get her in her own bed lately (She turns three in a couple of weeks). We actually had her in a toddler, then we moved & she was back with us while we stayed with my parents during the renovations. So we went straight to her big girl twin. We let her feed her piggy bank (she has a great big one with a princess crown) every morning that she stays in her bed for the night. We make a really big deal of what a big girl she is & the piggy "thanks" her for feeding it & she loves it. She hasn't been in our bed in a couple of weeks. Our youngest was in her crib since the beginning, but lately has been waking in the night & coming into bed with us. I changed her to a toddler bed last night since her crib had been recalled & she slept all night. The girls share a room & I think they like being able to see each other. Hope it goes well. This is one of the harder things to do I think.

It didn't go well at all. Jamie was bawling and Bob was trying to calm him down, "It's ok Jamie. You sleep in my crib." It was so cute. But Jamie wouldn't calm down so then Bob got upset. I put Jamie in my room, back in his pack n play. Bob was still going to sleep in his bed, he wanted to, but kept getting up to go pee or to come and tell us goodnight. Soooo...we are going to try it one child at a time. I will have to practice the Supernanny technique that momof2boys told me about.

it was bound to have "not gone well" lol there is something about mommy's room that is WONDERFUL! maybe tonight will go better

have you sorta preped him during the day? I was also thinking that maybe naptime would be an easier first transition....

either way, best of luck and you won't have him in your room forever. and you'll miss those days that he wakes you up so silly!
