DS will be 4 in sept. And will be starting preschool. He is potty trained for pee. Except at nap and bedtime.

And he does not have poop in the potty down yet (though he did have diarhee a week ago and went to the potty go figure) anywho....

how old was your child when you gave up the diaper bag and what did you do instead?

because i would still need to carry a change of clothes/snack and toy item.

Plus this is our last child and this will be the last time i carry diaper bag

Well, my only child is only 2 1/2, so I can't speak from experience, but I imagine that I will carry some sort of pack until school age. Even then, I might continue. He will always need snacks, toys, sunscreen, and changes of clothes.
I stopped carrying an official diaper bag when he turned 2. Now, it is just a canvas zip up bag that I like.

I actually use a big purse! It works great as a diaper bag and stylish too! I can get toys, snacks, pullsup, wipes, plus my things too!

I stopped lugging around the diaper bag when my ds was about 3. At that point
I got him a mini back pack and he carried his own gear (change of clothes, wipes, snacks and sippy cup) he loved being a big kid and my shoulders got some relief.

I always used a backpack (DH didn't like carrying a diaper bag around). But by about 6 months, I was just shoving a diaper and bottle in my purse.

I stopped using a diaper bag when my 1st was about 3 weeks old. Really, why do you need to carry all that crap? I never use anything. I used to have a bag that stays in the car with a change of clothes, diapers, wipes, and bottled water, I don't even have that anymore however it's a good idea. I just carry my normal sized purse with me, maybe with one diaper stuck in it. The only time I carry a bag is for a day out like when we go to the zoo b/c I carry food/snacks/water in the bag, sunscreen, etc. But just going out running everyday errands, etc, do you need anything...no! Give the kids a snack before you leave or when you get home, same with drinks and diaper changes/going potty. Much easier for me!

we have pretty much stopped carrying a dipaer bag around my youngest will be two then end of september.. that said in our cars we keep a change of clothes for each of your kids(i just buy a cheap pair for each season) i also keep diapers and wipes in our van for dd i have a small backpack that is always got these items in them.. then i just throw a little baggie of wipes and a diaper in my purse so i have it with me in the stores and restruants if i need it. we always take a cooler with snacks and water bottle where ever we go since it takes a minimum of 25 minutes to get anywhere.

I quit when DS was about 3 , and started back about 5 years ago when my DIL came to live with us while my son was in Iraq ... and now I just have a big bag .. there are two new babies and one due on Christmas so I think that will carry Big Bag for while .

we have been carrying a big bag for our diaper bag but as the kids are getting bigger, Trace 3 and a half and the baby almost 2 I am getting them little backpacks this week and they can each take their own bag. It'll work better for when they go to Nana's too because she always mixes the pull-ups up and puts Blake's on Trace and vice versa. luckily, one is in 2t-3t and the other 3t-4t so they can work that way
