hello. i'm starting my 18 month old dd in a Mother's Day Out program in my church, and i need to pack her a lunch. the only things i can think of that are packable (and not a mess waiting to happen) are pasta salad, cheese, fruit and yogurt. what other foods can i pack for her? cold foods are fine, but they won't be able to microwave any meals.

thanks!

oh, and no peanut products.

I use cookie cutter to cut out bread and then make sandwiches with them. Cut up fruit, raisins, shredded carrots, mini muffins, tuna fish, string cheese

I do yogurt a lot bc ds loves it, he gets pb & J but you said no peanut products, so what about jelly and cream cheese, or even just jelly, I pack the gerber snacks they have fruit snacks, a fruit bar, fruit rollup type of snack, whole wheat graham cookies...also...welches makes bits of dried fruits my ds LOVES...graham crackers...string cheese...sometimes I make a ham and chz sandwich...although my ds would probably jsut like the chz by itself. I don't pack a lot of fruit bc daycare already feeds him 2 snacks a day which is usually fruit or crackers...I pack goldfish a lot...sometimes pretzels...he's allowed to have something heated up every so often...so...at least once a week he gets heated up meals...but basically...its pb&j every day...what about single servings of puddings or applesauce...they make applesauce in different flavors like blueberry now...GOOD LUCK

Target sells Sunbutter. It's like peanut butter but made from sunflower seeds. It was introduced to me at school last year because of a peanut allergy. My ds loves it and you can use it just like peanut butter for dip or sandwiches!
