The same thing happened to us. My oldest potty trained very young and then refused to wear diapers at night. I was worried because she was so little and was waking up soaked! We put her to bed one night, without the diaper, and from then on, not one accident. We're pretty sure she was making it through the night but then going when we woke up because she knew the diaper was there.

My daughter who is 3, 4 in Nov., has been fully potty trained for about 6 months. She generally wakes up once in the middle of the night and goes pee. She used to come get us up and have us take her, but now she goes on her own. We put a night light in her bathroom. I would keep your child on pull ups until he starts waking up with a dry one, or do like others suggested and wake him up before you go to bed and have him go potty. Good luck!

I constantly keep both the kids' and our bed protected with a plastic mattress cover under the mattress pad. I have been quite grateful for it. I get them at Target or BB&B. Less than $15 and so worth it.

You can only do so much - they don't to be wet either. Just be positive and calm if he doesn't make it for awhile. Their little bladders aren't very big, and they are unconscious, so it's not like they wet on purpose.

This may sound bad, but we let my son have accidents for a while. I was so sick of washing sheets and PJ's, but finally after a few months they became less frequent. Now they have almost stopped intirely. He is almost 5 1/2 though. Not sure if that helps.

Well, we have done it for the past two nights in a row. The first night, he stayed dry through the whole night (we did get him up to go pee around midnight). Last night it didn't go as well. We took him to the bathroom last night, but it was about an hour or so earlier than the night before, as he woke up on his own. Maybe that made a difference. We'll continue to work on it -- one night at a time!
