Lydia will be going for 2 mornings a week next year, 3 a week the following year.

Lilly was enrolled for 5 days a week and I spent all year wanting to changed it to 3 days a week. My dh kept talking me out of it!

I'm glad I'm not the only odd Mom out

I realize that I don't do things the way most moms here on MS do, but where I live it is very common to send them early. My oldest started going 2 mornings a week at 2, 3 mornings at 3, and 5 mornings for pre-k. My youngest started going 2 mornings a week at 1 and also did 2 mornings a week at 2. This year he will go 3 mornings a week at 3. Next year he will do the 5 morning pre-k and the year after that he will do half day kindergarten since he has an August birthday, then go on to full day k at 6. Both of my children adore(d) preschool. Our church has a fabulous program and it is so fun for the kids, and it is a wonderful break for me. My youngest right now is BEGGING for school to start. Next week, woohoo!!!!!

Ds was 2.75 when I sent him to Montessori. They had a toddler program which was three days a week for 3 hours and he loved it. I just think it's personal preference. Ds is an only and definitely craved the stimulation of peers on a scheduled basis. But what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another.

My oldest is starting a program next week - she turned 3 August 10. The program she is entering is only 2 days/week from 9-2:30 & is church based (not ours, but a sister church) - it also only runs from Sept - May. I'm mostly putting her in it for social reasons. Since I started staying home, she is not around many kids except at church. She takes a quite awhile to warm up to anyone (kids or adults), so I figure we need to work on our social skills a bit. We only have 2 years till oldest starts Kindy since she has an August b-day & her knowledge way outways her social skills right now. The other benefit is that my 1yr old will get a little one on one time with Mommy while big sis is gone.
