Sometimes I give him watered down juice if it is a hot day and I want him to drink more (no more than 4 oz.). Then it is usually apple juice, the citrus juices still irritate his bottom, if I do give him citrus juice it has to be really watered down.

Occasionally he has straight apple juice as a treat when we are at a restaurant or a party, but in general I see no need for juice as long as my child is eating fruit.
This is how we are. DS isn't big on juice anyways so its never been an issue so far. And both DD (5) and DS(2) are good fruit eaters.

We give DD apple juice and not watered down. I try to limit it to 2 cups a day, sometimes she gets more, sometimes less. I do only give it to her before her afternoon nap. After that she gets milk or water. She will only drink white milk, apple juice and water. She doesn't like koolaid, lemonade, or other juices. She eats tons of fresh fruit and vegetables (she would rather have fruit and veggies than meat) so I am not worried about her juice habit.

They don't get it everyday and usually it is just a couple of ounces. DD really doesn't like milk so it gives her a change from water and tea.

DD has a cup of juice a couple of times a week.. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as it's pure.. I watered it down at first, but I don't always anymore..

dd has always got juice and it has always been watered down. form 3/4 water to 1/2 now and then later to 1/4 water. She gets her milk in the am and pm. She also has water. She will just go the fridge not and get her own water. I don't know what is the big deal about Juice. It is a heck of a lot better then what my baby sitter gives her kids ( crystal light, and kool aid) Nutrional vaule wise.

Okay, too much of anything is bad, but come on - juice? I let my kid drink away!
I totally agree. I read something recently saying that 100% juice isnt causing childhood obesity, or isn't as much to blame as originally stated.

If my children were significantly overweight I might watch their intake of all sugar and calories, but I have three healthy, thriving children that love their juice. (and Milk, and water... )

DS, almost 4, NEVER drinks juice. I wish he would at least taste it. When he was little, I tried giving him juice and he said 'yuck' each time so that was it. And milke he only has with cereal but he likes a lot so that is a good thing. All he drinks is water, water, water. And in pre-k, he is the only child to have water, everyone else has juice.
