Yep, we're all messed up here too. My kids were up at 5:30 when they don't usually get up until 7 or 7:15 so that is more than 1 hour off. It's crazy and I'm cranky too

I don't know if it was the time change, but we had the night from hell last night. It was so frustrating. DH even took a sick "hour" this morning to get a little extra sleep.

...we don't have DST here (Arizona) but my oldest son has woken up at 5:30 every morning since birth... I also have insomnia issues so I NEVER feel too rested.

Oh girls...one hour?? Try 8!! Yes, that's what we had to adjust to when we moved here from Turkey. Turkey is 7 hours ahead of Eastern time so moving to Illinois it was an additional hour because we're on Central time.

Yeah, that was no fun. I hated life for the first two weeks we were here. The ONLY good thing (and I mean ONLY) was that we were able to do some shopping earlier because for us, it was afternoon early in the morning. Just as previously mentioned, we had to do a slow transition and I slept whenever DS slept to try and stay as rested as possible. Those were crazy days!

I thought it was just my two wackos that were affected by the time change! Connor started going to bed at 6pm 2-3wks before the time change. And boy does he get witchy if he isn't in bed by 6:30 at the latest. My sister is very much affected by the time changes and I guess he is taking after her. Evan goes to bed anywhere between 7:30-8:30, depending on if he is going to wait up for my dh to get home from work. But they are both up now at like 6:30 every morning and I just have the hardest time adjusting to this early morning routine! Connor will even take 2, 2hr naps during the day and still has to be in bed at the same time every night. The second he starts getting whiney, hitting, pinching etc we say it must be close to 6 and sure enough he's right on schedule. It's amazing. I can sometimes push his bedtime a little later if we have dinner later, which means a later bath and bedtime by 7 or 7:30 but he still gets up at the same time every single day. Thank goodness my dh is so great about getting up with them sometimes that early and lets me sleep a little extra.

We are affected by the time change too...So far, I can't fall asleep at night, and my 2 year old is trying to get up at 5:30 too. I never have let him sleep in my bed, but out of sheer exhaustion, I tell him to lay at my feet w/ his blankie, and he seems to lay there quiet or fall back asleep with us. I'm already up 2-3 times in the night feeding the baby, so every extra hour in the morning helps. Here's a thought...Would your husband agree to do morning shift before he goes to work, and you do night shift w/ the kids? We do that sometimes when I'm overtired...I will stay up late with them and he will do the breakfast thing with the kids early so I can sleep a little... Also, if you have a friend who is also at home swap a day to give each other a break...Watch her kids for an hour or two and another day, she could do the same for you...or...we joined the ymca. I go there, put the kids in childcare and go sit in the lounge and rest w/ a cup of tea or go sit in the hot tub and then take a relaxing shower...who says I have to work out? lol Well, these are just a few ideas that I do to get a break or some sleep...Hope this helps.
