Did you call the baby by name before birth? We never did, but I know lots of families that do/did.

Nope!! We did not, we did not even tell anyone our sons name until after he was born, everyone already knew it was a boy we wanted something to be a surprise when DH went out to announce our sons birth to the waiting room!
I am glad I did not call him his name because he was going to be Lucas Daniel until about 2 weeks before I gave birth and we changed it to Carter James.... I may have given the poor child identity crisis

Nope. For one thing, I did not know the sex for the first 6 kids. The last one we knew he was a boy, but it did not seem right to call him Luke until after he was born.

Yes, the moment we found out the sex, we called the child by name for both kids.

We did not find out the sex. I would refer to our baby as "spunky".

We're doing that now that we know the gender.

Same here! We decided on one name right before my shower (there was a lot of pressure from my family to tell them a name at my shower) But I told my DH for some reason I didn't want to announce it...and I'm glad we didn't. We changed our mind about 2 weeks before he was born and we wanted to wait to see him to make sure it felt right, which it did!
