The only way my ds (3 mths) will sleep for any period of time is in his carseat. This is ok for now, but I would like to transition him to his crib. Is there a product that would allow him to be in a semi upright position in his crib? Or if anyone has had this issue how did you deal with it.

I think he must just breath better.?

My SIL had this issue with my nephew. She just put the carseat in the crib for awhile, and then slowly weaned him out. If it's the upright position that he likes you could always throw a couple of phone books under the mattress on one end (like they recommend when they are stuffed up) and slowly take them away.

Not much advice, but HTH a little

could he like the seat cause he feels cozy? maybe try to swaddle him fairly tightly and see if that helps. or you could try some soothing sounds like ocean waves ect..

Mine liked to sleep in his carset too & we later figured out it was cuz he was swaddled & snuggled in there tight. He liked to sleep in his swing too if we had him all wrapped up w/extra blanket stuffed in there...again swaddled & snuggled.

My nephew couldn't sleep the whole night in his crib. He got some congestion at one point and they were told to put a towel under one end of the matress to elevate his head up. After that, he slept so well they never removed it. I don't know if this would have anything with helping him get out of the carseat, but just thought I would post in case.

I was going to suggest putting the carseat in the crib also. My #3 was like that for awhile, but not at 3 months. I understand not wanting it to go on forever. I think that at that age, you just have to go with what works for him. He will grow out of it. I agree that it's probably the snuggly/swaddled feeling. My #4 would only sleep on my chest (for any extended period) for the 1st 3 months!! Good luck!

When my kids were stuffed up, I placed a regular (maybe a flatter) bed pillow under the crib mattress. They do sell wedges at One Step Ahead, I think. I don't know of anywhere else I've seen them. HTH

Bouncy seat. You can also buy wedges to slip under the sheet, but mine always slid down.

Could he have acid reflux? My dd wouldn't sleep for long if I put her on her back and turned out she had acid reflux. She would always sleep great if she was in the car seat or bouncy chair so I knew something was up. The doctor gave her a prescription for baby Zantac and the first night she had it she slept like 5 or 6 hours in her crib. She was only on the medicine a couple of months and was fine after that. Good luck!

Thanks for all the great advice. I don't know about the reflux what are the symptoms(sp)? His current pediatrician sucks and we are changing for his 4 month well baby. So I will bring that up with his new Dr.
