Hi. My ds will be 1 in a couple of weeks. I still haven't given him strawberries, nuts, eggs, milk, or fish. However, we are having fish tonight and I wondered if he is old enough for it. He is a great eater and I think he will like it. What do you think - is it safe? He doesn't have his checkup until August 10th so I can't ask the dr. until then. Y'all are better than the pediatrician any day though!

I gave both my sons fish at 6 months with no problems. Just no shellfish until 3 years.

Originally, our ped told us to hold off on any seafood until after one year. But she was doing well, and we don't have a history of allergies of fish (except me, when shrimp starts to get just a little bit old, I break out)...anyway, he told me at our 9 mo. appt. it was ok to feed her seafood - a little at a time at first. We're eating seafood tonite!

if it is not a fish that contains mercury then i would think it would be fine. its not like a 1 year old is gonna consume a mass quantity...

I just gave my almost 7 month old little bits of fish last night. She really liked it!
