I read somewhere that tonight is supposed to be a full moon. I've been feeling weird all day long...so I can't help but wonder if it's that. If there's any truth at all to it...I might have to check it out. Heck at this rate I might even dance under it!

I went through 9 full moons in both my pregnancies and neither caused labor.

My doctor said so, and storms also. Neither worked for me, but nothing else did either.

My husband and I decided to sit outside under it last night just in case. I've been having contractions ever since. I hope we meet our little one soon!

I have heard it takes 10 full moon cycles to gestate. I know it tends to work with cattle and other farm animals. I have heard that it can depend on the lunar phase at which you normally cycle. With all of the interventions now, it would be hard to measure since almost no one goes into labor naturally. I find that those old wives tales really do carry some weight but there is always an exception to the rule...280 days IS 10 lunar months though, being lunar months are 28 days each.

Also, with storms especially hurricanes, the drop in barometric pressure can start labor.

When I went for my breastfeeding class at the hospital, the poor lactation consultant was going nuts between teaching the classes and working with the 30 moms that had delivered the previous day.... on account of the full moon! She told us that L&D gets crazy on the full moons - something about the gravitation pull causes women's water to break.
