DD has cradle cap (ds did too) and for ds I used a cradle cap treatment that I bought and it was kind of smelly and icky. Has anything else worked for anybody?

Our ped says you can just leave it - it'll go away eventually and doesn't hurt baby (but I gotta think it itches). However, if it bothers you, some moisturizer or baby oil gel (yes, they make it in a gel now), lightly put on, rubbed in gently and then brushed with a soft brush - I found combing gently worked better). Then shampoo and rinse thoroughly. It takes time, and do it over several baths, or it will get irritated. I found it best to leave it alone, and comb it out over time. Good luck!

I agree baby oil. There is a baby oil gel like someone else posted. It doesn't "run" as much as the oil. Massage some onto the scalp, brush with a baby brush, shampoo and rinse out.
I would put this on my babies head before feeding her so it could soak a little. When she was fed and happy then I'd brush it and bathe her.

that's what worked for us, letting it soak in then coming it out. Our ped said to shampoo then leaving both shampoo and oil in, comb out then rinse. Now that it's gone, I still do this about 1 or 2 times a week to keep it gone!

My daughter has it (STILL at 18 mths) right on top of her soft spot. I haven't been able to get rid of it with anything, since it is in a place that I can't really "scrub" to get it out of her hair. My Ped. also said not to worry about it, it will go away. It doesn't bother her at all, so we have just left it.

Yup, baby oil. My older DD had it forever, like until she was 2, she has very dry skin all over, I think it bugged me more than her!

i have used the Gerber Cradle Cap kit, it has a lotion, sampoo, comb and a lotion for after bathing too. It was the only thing that worked with him.

I did this too, be careful though if you take off too much too fast it will bleed.
