wasn't sure what catagory this would go under but i need to be reassured that i'm normal. ...
I just gave birth 5 weeks ago and ever since when i urinate it hurts. Sometimes, when i try to go to the bathroom i can't. It just burns to the point of tears. I feel it on the top part of my vagina and inside like all my muscles are sore. Even after i use the bathroom its like 2 minutes after i'm done that i can't feel the pain anymore, its crazy. Its not a yeast infection or anything like that, its not sore on the outside.. I've tried to read online and see if i could find someone else who had this but could only find people who felt this the first 2 days or so after birth. It doesn't do it all the time but pretty much like every other time. Did anyone else experience anything like this? Please tell me i'm normal and this will go away soon. I have my 6 week check up on Thursday so i didn't feel like i should call and have them tell me this is normal... ah.

Our babies arent far apart (DJ was born 6/14/06) so we are pretty close as far as recovery goes. Did you have an episiotomy? Although, even if you did... I cant see that affecting the areas that you say hurt when you go. Personally, I didnt have one this time around... and am not having and pains when going to the bathroom. I dont want to say you're not normal.. but I would definitely ask your doc whats going on when you go in on Thursday. Let us know what he/she says!

I also tore without the episiodomy and had stitches too. Surprisingly, I didn't have any severe pain or problems healing. I had no difficulty urinating. From your description, it kinda sounds like you've got a UTI. JMO, but I think you ought to call your dr. just to be on the safe side.

i have actually read this though i have had 2 c-sections can't comment either way... i would have them check you for a urinary tract infection that is common after birth you may need some meds... hope ya start feeling better.

UTI or possibly hypersensitive granulation (scar) tissue, though if it were scar tissue you'd feel the burning more on the outside. Call your doctor soon, because if it's a UTI, and it's already that bad, the discomfort will only get worse. Hope you feel better soon!

I'd have it checked out. It sounds like a UTI (Uninary Tract Infection). Be sure to drink plenty of liquids.
