For those of you expecting soon, do you plan on going natural, epidural, laughing gas, or other pain meds/relief?

I "plan" on going natural, had an epi. for my first and it never took, had my last 2 natural. Hoping to go natural again... but.. time will tell.

How about you??

With only two days to go I imagine you're thinking about this a lot!

I "tried" to go natural with my first, but I happily accepted the drugs when I started to get really uncomfortable. The drugs and epidural truly were a godsend. I'm expecting our second baby in October and I'll hold out as long as I can before requesting the drugs, but I won't turn them down if I need them.

Yay, drugs!!

Too funny! My last 2 labours went so fast by the time the contractions kicked in enough to hurt, there wasn't time! So i'm hoping for another labour like that!

I am not due any time soon. I am barely pregnant, but I am thinking about drugs. My first two labors were exactly the same. Got my epidural around 3 or 4. It stopped working when I got to a 7. And then it hurt like heck. Then I went from 7 to 10 in minutes and there was no time to do another line. Once I started pushing through the contractions it wasn't so bad. The most painful part on both of them was stitching up my epesiotomy (sp), they could have used a local for that.
I am glad I had the epidural. I think it took the edge off the contrations in the beginning. But we really need to explore our other options to get something that will work better for the whole labor.
I will be delivering at a different hospital this time. Maybe they will get my pain under control better.
