The more you nurse, the more you produce. If he is sleeping as much as you said, chances are you will need to pump, too. Build up the supply, and he'll start waking up soon enough to match you!! I nursed all six of mine, one for only a few weeks, but mostly for 1 year plus. PM me anytime you need help.

I know some people my freek out but beer helps..... I would have half of one eveynight right after a feeding so my body would filter it as best before the next feeding... Also the darker the beer the better it has something to do with the hops. and I guess the darker the beer the better. Also eating molasis cookies with help with making your milk sweet for the baby and you know that will make the baby drink up. HTH

I agree with the more you nurse the more you produce. I've been slacking with the pumping at work since I only have a curtain to go behind, no private room and so now I am supplementing w/formula. But mine is starting to eat now anyway. Plus with the eating, I got my period, boo hoo.
Oh and also drink lots and lots of water!! You need liquid to make liquid! Good luck to you!

I forgot to mention in the other post, that I've read parsley and sage can decrease milk production. Caffeine too, so be careful about those items. Try to get enough sleep, drink plenty of water, and keep your iron levels up (anemia or low hemoglobin can decrease milk supply too). Good luck!

LOTS and LOTS of water. Whenever you nurse, drink water. Keep a bottle handy next to you.

Also, get more sleep. I know, newborn, but still, get more sleep.

I've heard oatmeal really helps. If you're still having issues with supply after that, you can try fenugreek. You can buy it at just about any nutritional store.

HTH!

When I just gave birth to Emma, the doctor told me to eat at least three meals, and snacks. Also drink a lot to hydrate. He said three meals is two to the baby. But to me it seems like my breasts arn't as full as they use to be. But Em never has fussed like she doesn't get enough.
