How far along were you when you found out the sex of the baby? I'm having an ultrasound on the 25th and will be around 15 weeks...do you think it's possible this early to find out?

If I am not mistaken- they will tell you the sex- though not guarentee it.
I remember with one or maybe 2 of mine- I had them before 18 weeks and they said- if it is a boy (which all mine were ) then it is a boy. If they can not see anything they will say it could go either way.
Good luck

It might be too early, but I do know they should be able to definatley tell at 20 weeks.

From what I've heard it could go either way at 15 weeks (although I think it's more likely that they won't be able to tell). I had them at 20 weeks with both my boys and it was obvious both times.

It may be too early-if they do tell you I wouldn't take it as 100%. When I found out on both of mine I was at 20 weeks.

When we had ours done I called to try and move the appt up and the secretary suggested if we wanted to know the sex it was better to leave it alone. They say much before 18 weeks and you don't get the best results.

But if it is a boy they should be able to tell you pretty close, it is the girls that you can not really tell. Can you hold off and do it a couple weeks later, or is this when the dr wants it????

I had one at 20 weeks since I did want to know so they waited till then. They told me I could have one at 18 weeks but didn't know if they would be able to tell me then. So I waited till 20 weeks.

I had an ultrasound (for kidney problems) at that early stage and they were able to tell the baby was a boy. They did tell me though that if they could not see an obvious "male part", then it could still be either. Some boys genitals have not decended at that point and come out looking like girls on the ultrasoudn that early.
