After talking and praying it through, we've decided to go on birth control to help get pregnant again. Well, "we" being me. We realized DS was conceived immediately after I got off BC 6 months after we got married, and we've been trying for over a year, with nothing to date. It isn't for lack of attempts, believe you me. Truthfully I (and DH) was petrified of the idea of going back on it because I've been sick & depressed through every BC run I've done. But my periods are lasting 12 or 13 days now, and with PMS, my cycle experience each month is 3 weeks long.. So I get a week's respite before starting it all over again. I can't do it anymore. The amount of bleeding I have for 12 days with tampons I am in so much pain (internally) half-way through my cycle. And if I use pads, I am in pain too, but it's external. (I think that's as descriptive as I'll be...). We want another baby, and have both agreed it's an okay time for us to get pregnant again. I told DH that he may have to just give me more grace and mercy and slap me into reality now and then with the truth that the hormonal fluxes are from the BC and my life isn't TRULY unraveling at the seams. Maybe now that I know what BC does to my body, I'll be more prepared to deal with its side effects. I might try that new Yaz or Yazmin that's out; I hear it doesn't have as many side effects. I'm going to call the dr tomorrow morning. Wish us luck - we're really wanting to get pregnant again and I'm going to pray and have faith that this time the BC doesn't wreak havoc on my system. ray:

I guess I'm a little confused...sorry...why go ON the bc? To regulate you? Do you not ovulate when not on bc? Have you asked your dr. about Clomid? Just curious. Congratulations, either way, on wanting to get pregnant again. It's such a miraculous time~let us know how things are going for you!

yea the dr told me that i should try BC first to regulate myself b'c she thought i wasn't ovulating correctly. she said they do that before they go the route of infertility treatments, but i was afraid to do it when she told me to (like 6 months ago).

I went to the GYN on Wednesday and got a Rx for Yaz. She said I can go off it after 2 months if I want - I was thinking I'd have to be on it for like 3-4 months. I start my first run of the Yaz in a couple weeks and I'm really excited! This time next year I could be waddling around..

That's so exciting! I know what you mean about not wanting to be on BC too. I HATED the person I became on those pills, just moody and sad all the time. I really hope this Rx works for you, and you can starting dreaming dreams of wee ones soon!!
