My doc says that they are stopping them due to complications everywhere witht hem. I truely think it's a lot to do with good or poor stitching. She says they are having problems with people's uterus' rupturing when contractions start. I had DS via csection because he was 2.5 weeks late, stuck and too large to deliver naturally. I have the bikini cut inside and out from what I understand. She said it really depends on the sixe of baby when it's closer to time. She will not even ATTEMPT it if she/he is over 8lbs. I was heart broken, but I felt like I have no choice. I have already changed docs once since I have been pregnant because I moved. They won't see a new patient after 20 weeks will they?

I had a c-section with my 2nd because she was breech. With my 3rd, I wanted a vbac and my ob was all for it. I was even INDUCED with him and still delivered him vaginally with no problems/complications. This was just over a year ago. I did talk to my doctor in length about the risks before making the decision. Now I'm pregnant with my 4th and plan to have another vaginal birth this time if all goes well. For me, my recoveries after my vaginal deliveries were so much better than after my c-section. I never want to go that route again if I can help it.

You know your body and should pursue a doctor that will do what you want. Call around to some doctors and explain the situation and I'm sure you'll find a doctor that will take you on at this late date, if you decide you want a vbac. That's a decision that, in my opinion, shouldn't be made for you but by you.

I found this information that will definitely help if you decide you want to go for a vbac (which I highly encourage, btw): http://www.ican-online.org/resources..._vbacbanqa.pdf

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I moved after 20 weeks and had no problem finding a new doc.

I noticed you are in GA. I'm in Ga also and I noticed that once I moved out of the metro ATL area, medicine went back about 20 years!! As I said earlier, I had no choice because of the hospital, my Dr said she tried hard to keep them from banning vbacs. My 1st doc in metro ATL gave me the choice and I was going to choose repeat csection anyway. (If I couldn't get out 1 at 7#'s, how was I going to get out an even bigger one?)

I had all three of mine via c-section...the first 2 were only ten months apart. VBAC wasn't an option for me since my pelvic bones don't release and expand to let a baby pass. Hereditary and proven with my first baby.

As for the 2nd (and 3rd) c-sections, they were a breeze. It's like your body is already used to this type of pain and recovers very quickly. I was out of bed as soon as my spinal wore off and was ready to go home earlier. I had no problems once I was at home, either. I'm sure that if you do have to have c-section, you will be fine.

Snagged this from another site. I've recently been told by a nurse at the hospital in the Family Birthing Center that they do not allow women w/ two prior CS's to deliver vaginally. when I told her that I was going to see a MW an hour away for a VBA2C, her response was, "they do THAT there?". Talk about ignorance!

Anyhow, hope you find this as enticing as I did! I will be writing to the hospital and their clinic to inform them of the rights they have not allowed me as a patient. I think it's terrible!

I had all 3 of mine by c section and I loved being able to pick their b day and have everything planned out to the T. #1 was after 10 hours of labor and I was a very unhappy camper with no progresion in labor. #2 was a breeze had her at 854 pm by 9 am the next morning I had a shower was walking the halls and ready to go home! Also no pain meds didnt need them even once home. #3 Had a little bit of pain but that was more from crappy nurses. My OB informed me of all the pros and cons and I decided to do the section again and with number 3 being so close to number 2 he was like I really advise another section and I was all for it. I now have all my b days in a cute little order so they cant be forgotten!

After having a csection with my first (went in for an induction - ended up needing an emergency csection cause his heart rate went to over 220!!!) I was SCARED of going into labor b/c I knew what to expect with the csection. Because the kids were only 19 mo apart my dr greatly recommended a c section again and we went a long with it. Both of my recoveries went well. I was walking within hours and showering. I would do a c section again!!
