I am no good as a pregnant woman. I swear I had 10 months of morning sickness. It started within 3 days of conception and continued until after the birth - seriously. I always knew when I was pregnant because I was as sick as a dog. By comparison, labor and delivery was a walk in the park! I actually enjoyed the delivery. Labor wasn't that bad either as long as I had a good coach. I am completely convinced that when your husband is a great labor coach, you fall in love with him all over again. The moment the baby was born I thought, "Wow! That was soooo cool!" and I said, "That was fun. Let's do that again!"

So for me it is surviving the pregnancy in order to enjoy the labor and delivery.

My 1st was a breeze.. Got to hospitol at 9:15 and she was born at 10:29 no time for drugs..
#2 was a differant story, the induced me and I had an epidural NEVER AGAIN!! I was in labor for 3-4 hours...The epidural slowed everything down..

WIth my daughter I had three months of morning sickness and feeling miserable. My labor... easy. I went in at 4:30 on the dot and had her at 5:37. Yep an hour and 7 minutes later. I did it all natural with no epidural, and that was my first one. LOL! THe worst part for me is when they stitched me up. 6 shots down there later... owwwww!!

With this one I have the morning sickness and slight pains all the time. I am two months along.

Both my pregnancies were great, no problems. My labors were long, #1: 22hrs and #2: 10hrs and pushing was no problem either. It's all worth it!!

The first time it was really bad, but it didn't stop me from wanting to do it again. What's a few hours of misery, when you get to hold a precious baby at the end?! My sister on the other hand, says she will never have another one, she was in labor for three days before they finally did a c-section.

I remember being so sick with morning sickness with my first. I lost 15 lbs during the 10+ weeks I was sick. My grandma told my mom that with her 10 kids, she had morning sickness with the first 8! I asked my mom how on earth she ever got past the first ONE! Nothing I did helped with the morning sickness, and I really should have been on IV fluids, but I don't think I complained "enough" about how bad it was. The docs I worked with (ortho docs) were really worried though....

Then after I delivered her (labor and delivery weren't THAT awful...especially not after I had the epidural during transition....and I was induced with 1 hour of pushing), I was SOOOOO sore from the 3rd degree laceration, I told my dh to "Remind me how I feel right now if I ever tell you I want to do this again!"

Well, God took that decision out of our hands, and I became pregnant with twins when my first was 17 months old! LOL

one thing I will say...it's NOTHING like it use to be....I have 3 kids 2 16 and 17 and one 5 and when I went in for last one...they just expect you to get an epidural.....my doctors exact words to me was...why not get one?who are you being a hero for?

They also are ALOT quicker to give drugs to make it go faster....I was pregnant with 5 other women where I worked EVERY SINGLE ONE had epidural and noone had a OVERLY bad story about it.

Not really. I can't have any more, I'm the one with one and would like more. My pregnancy was a total breeze. Only one bout of stomach queasyness no vomiting at all. In fact for most of my pregnancy if I didn't know I was pregnant I wouldn't have known, no kidding. I didn't have to wear maternity clothes until the 6th month, maybe, and my skin was SO 'tight' that when I gave birth I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes the day after. All the books tell you not to bring pre-pregnancy clothes to the hospital for after, hah, I didn't and my maternity clothes were falling off me. Goes to show what 'they' know.

I had to be induced which wasn't pleasant but I got through it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had the chance!!
