Basically, it is a personal choice but I recently heard a little report about 3 years apart being ideal because that's the time frame your body needs to adjust. I didn't look into it because I was already done having babies. Mine are about 23 months apart. In some ways it's great, others it's rough. The closer they are together the more in diaper/sippycup mode you are but then you have 2 in car seats, maybe need a double stroller, maybe jealousy.
I don't think there is a magic number.
Good luck!

I have also heard that 3 years is ideal. That said, I really don't think there is a perfect time frame when it comes to having children. Mine are 24 and a half months apart, and it was very hard in the beginning but obviously SO worth it. They fight a lot but they are the absolute best of friends.

With each of ours we started "trying" when they each got to 2 years old. Our kids are all 2 3/4 years apart and it has been the best for us. Almost potty trained, becoming more independent, but still close enough to play together. They play together amazingly well... we are so happy with the spacing.

We are hoping for about a 3 year split. My son turned 2 at the end of Feb. and we are TTC right now. Well, not RIGHT now.....

I totally agree with it being a personal decision ... everyone we know seems to think that two years is the "golden number". But for me I knew two years was too close! I would of had a breakdown. Our daughter is three and will be two months shy of four when the baby is born ... I guess we'll see how this works out for us!
