My Husband and I have been married almost 2 years now and we are highly considering begining to try to get pregnant. But we are stuck on one issue. We currently rent a one bedroom townhouse. It consits of a nice sized private fenced in yard with trees and a small porch, and a living room, kitchen, stairway and hallway, bedroom and bathroom all of these rooms are very large, for example our bedroom is about 15ft by like 13ft and has two regular size closets. our kitchen has about 6ft of extra space and our bathroom is well equipped. Our townhouse is very well decorated, painted and has all new carpet/flooring and our land lord is wonderful and rent it resonable at 450 per month. We love our house...

But do we have enough space to live here for at least 2-3 years so then our child would basically have to share a bedroom with us until they were 2.........
We thought about getting a privacy screen and making a section of our bedroom more private so that a crib could go behindit.

Does anyone have any experience with this ??? HELP!!!

Personally, I would say you'd be fine. We shared a room with our first dd until she was a little over 1. But there will be times when you want the baby OUT of your room!!! You might be going to other parts of the house to.... do your business lol just to avoid waking up the baby.

We had a similar arrangement when our daughter was born and we left her in our room for a long time. She was a sound sleeper. For us it wasn't a huge deal. We recently bought a house and her very small room is just off our bedroom though half the time she ends up sleeping with us. Of course I'm pregnant again and we figure we'll keep the baby in our room until we can afford to add on to the house. Of course he may be a freshman in college before that happens! Near as I can figure these babies end up taking over the entire house anyway and it doesn't matter what size it is!

You can definitely start a family in this townhouse, but babies have a lot of stuff. And I would start planning to get a bigger place by the time the baby is two. You are going to want room for a dresser, a place to hang the little clothes, put the shoes, etc.

I guess I go against the norm on this one. Yes it can be done but I could not handle living like that with an infant/toddler in the house. i would want more room. I would say if you can swing it get moved and used to the expense in a bigger place before trying.
