We are still trying to find a name for our daughter due in October. I cam across the following web-site which tells you what the most popular names were in your state during 2005. It is published by the Social Security Administration.

What a neat tool! I never wanted popular or common names for my kids. Their names are Connor (wasn't popular 10.5 years ago!), Ramsey, Griffin & Irelyn. I read from someone on another board that the best way to pick a name is to look through an Atlas!! Good luck with your baby girl...I have 2 girls & they are wonderful!

My baby is going to be Kaylee, which in VA is ranked number 43. I have never heard of anyone having the name, it must be a new thing. I've had this name picked out way too long to turn back now and pick a new one just because 143 girls in 2005 were named Kaylee.

Cool site. My DD's name, Ava, was the most popular in 2005 in Minnesota. She was born in 2003 and it was ranked at 17. When we named her, we didn't know any other Ava's (we now know 2 but they don't live in the same town as us). We got the name from Reese Witherspoon's DD.

i was getting excited cause molly wasn't on there... until i hit #84! poo.... atleast it isn't in the top 10.
