Well they scheduled my sil. She is due on the 15th, but it got to the point where she was so anxious that she was going to the hospital everyday with different things going on (really just to be checked to see if she had dialated more) and would then beg them to start labor.
So.......she went to the hospital last night at 8 and they gave her a sedative and then at midnight started her on the other stuff. She was barely a 3 when they started her. This morning at 8 nothing had happened except for a few small contractions, they came in and broke her water at about 10 and now 3 hours later she is barely a 5.
My second baby was scheduled, but it didn't take that long, and they didn't give me a sedative either. Is this normal???? Also........i really didn't like the hospital. They were acting kinda snotty. LOL maybe i am just irritable. It just seems like maybe she wasn't really ready yet and the dr. just got sick of going to the hospital with her!

It sounds like the dr got tired of her. Because she is still 2 weeks early. I know how she is feeling but the longer the baby stays in the better. Besides due dates are just estimates.

It sounds like baby is not ready to come out yet. I hope it goes smoothly for her.

I guess I should add that after going through an induction the first time - cj was late and my blood pressure was up - I would never beg a dr to do this again. it was horrible and then I did not progress so after 14 hours of the water being broke I had to have a c-section.

Yikes. I would not like a sedative going to my baby...and cannot imagine that poor baby in there holding on with all it's got to stay where it was until ready! Bless it's little heart!!! (and, I say this as my youngest is almost 3 1/2 and I am not in her shoes..but I do remember those last few weeks of utter exhaustion and readiness!!) I will keep her and that baby in my prayers.
